About Dr. Vandana Sharma

From a young age, I had a deep passion for English literature, reading works by Indian, British, American, and Canadian authors. However, my father wanted me to pursue a career in science, so I did B.Sc. from Himachal Pradesh University and B.Ed. from Srinagar Kashmir.

Despite this, I never lost my love for English literature, which led me to earn a Master’s degree in English from Himachal Pradesh University in 1989. My thirst for knowledge continued, I qualified UGC NET examination and eventually did PhD in Anglo-Indian literature. Most of my education took place in Himachal Pradesh.I served as a TGT for approximately five years and as an English lecturer for over sixteen years in the Higher Education Department of the Himachal Pradesh government. A pivotal moment in my career came when I received a job offer from Jazan University in Saudi Arabia. I accepted without hesitation and spent over 11 years there as a professor and head of the English department.  

I guided over 50 students in writing their undergraduate research papers with my research skills and shared my knowledge with enthusiastic students. Teaching English allowed me to sustain my love for literature. I have had the privilege of teaching English Literature and Grammar to students at various levels, from senior secondary classes to university students. I am fortunate to have a career that aligns with my passion. I have published three academic books (Available on Amazon) and several research articles too in international magazines.

My specialized areas include psychoanalytical literary analysis, comparative literature, research paper writing, Victorian literature, Shakespeare, American modernism, Anglo-Indian literature, and Indian writing in English.
